A recent Fire in a London Care Home damaged part of the first floor and
part of the roof - perhaps now is the time to remind Responsible Persons to
check that the Fire Risk Assessment for their Building is up to date.
The first stage of the Fire Risk Assessment process is the Fire Safety
Inspection/Audit. This should be carried out by a suitably qualified person
and one of the best places to find such a person/ company is by visiting the Institution of Fire Engineers website.
They are an independent body that monitor Fire Risk Assessors and have a
Register of qualified persons to do the job!
Once your Fire Safety Inspection/Audit has been completed you will then
receive the Fire Risk Assessment for your Building which should include the
following:
- Fire Safety Risk Assessment
- Fire Safety Policy
- Fire Safety Emergency Plan
- Fire Safety Management Plan that identifies the significant findings.
